My book is being sold on Ebay by someone. Is this legal?

Not if you didn't authorize it (assuming the book is copyright by you). I'd complain to eBay.

If you're talking about a paperback copy, sure it's legal. I can go out and buy a copy of Stephen King's latest opus and sell it on Ebay myself. It's my book; I can re-sell it if I want.

If it's your e-book they're selling, that's a problem. Though I'm not sure Ebay would allow e-publications for sale. Someone here will know.

Sure. IF it is a paperback.
It's no different than say a cookbook you bought at a bookstore that you are done with and decide to resell it.
The price can be up to that seller.

I just received contradictory replies from other readers! Perhaps you are talking of an e-book? I do have the copyright for both the versions but it is the paperback version that is being sold. That too in large quantities! It is very confusing..

If it is the paperback it is perfectly legal. Anyone can on-sell a book, even if they don't actually own it at the time. When they make a sale, they will buy your book to provide it to their customer.

Thanks. I figured that out eventually. Besides, why complain when it boosts my sales ;) Nevertheless, it was the capital idea that bugged me especially since I did the hard work :)

That's the ONLY place my first book is sold. It was published 15 years ago, and is now out of print. I am very happy that I can refer people to eBay to buy it.

OMG, that's a lesson! In that case, I shouldn't complain!

What do you mean out of print? Does Amazon only print copies for a particular time?

No problem there.

Gosh, how I wish Amazon had never launched that awful KDP Print! It's not very good, and it has made these KDP boards a source of continual confusion and cross-talk.

Use KDP for ebooks, CreateSpace for print, and life will improve for everyone.

She probably published thru a 'normal' book publisher, not the Zon.
