A few years ago, I removed my books from Kindle because they were hardly selling. There was no request from Kindle to do so. I was new to the publishing game at the time and cancelled my book sales on all other venues (about 500 per week downloads and reached charts in two countries on itunes) in order to join KDP. Nothing sold on Kindle I was devastated, removed my books, and haven't published since. I was completely demoralized - despite one of my books reaching the first rounds of the Kindle book competition.
I have just decided to give it another go and find that my account has been terminated.
Please could you tell me what is happening and how to get my account reinstated.
I hope you realize that you can have ebooks for sale both on KDP and on other platforms (like iTunes) at the same time, as long as you don't sign up for KDP Select. It sounds like you should re-publih the books that were doing well before as well as publishing some new ones.
The only people who can reinstate your account are Amazon-KDP themselves. Use the Contact link at lower right to contact them. Good luck.
Yes, I did realize that at the time, I think. However I thought that KDP would sell more because they gave free books away. It was only when I had actually been on the site awhile that I realized people weren't likely to chose my book free when they could have the books of famous authors. (They could only select one a month.)
Anyway, thank you for the insight. Very much appreciated. And I will be in touch with the powers that be.
Thank you so much. I will definitely take your wise words of advice. It's been a while, and I confess that I have some trepidation, but writing has always been my life, and I got over the rejection (finally).
