Fix for one misspelling?

Recently I had to redo a couple covers, removing the "By" i'd put in years ago being a novice. When I did so I was given a warning of a misspelled word. I pulled up my 3 various copies of the book (Amazon, Smashwords, Createspace) and fixed the word, which was "bedoom" for "bedroom."

Now I'm wondering whether to upload the new files for this one goof. Since the book came out in 2012 I'm sure many have read the book without noting this error. What would you do?

If you have misspelling on your manuscript pages, such as the title page, then YES, re-upload a new manuscript over the old one.

It shouldn't be much trouble to update the cover.

There's not really a negative to uploading a new version. I couldn't stand knowing it was in there. Is there anything else you can do with the opportunity. Perhaps you can update the back of your book with some "ads" to books you have written since. Or update your bio, or something else to make it more worthwhile?

The correction isn't on the cover or the title page. Sheesh. It's well inside the book. Leaving it there is a bit like a hair in the mouth, or a tiny splinter unseen in the finger. Sooner or later I may want to upload a corrected version, even though 1 in 100 might notice it. I'd feel better if I could find a second error somewhere, but it's been gone over so much I doubt there is one.

Oh that's a bummer. I would set up a copy of your document and fix it in that version. Maybe hang onto it a few months to see if any other mistakes are found. It's highly unlikely your book is perfect except for the one, it's just a matter of whether anyone spots it and reports it.

If no-one's noticed it in five years, I wouldn't have a sleepless night over it. Annoying, but I've read books by acclaimed authors where the proofreaders have let a misspelling through. Doesn't spoil the enjoyment of the book and shows we're all human. Just makes me feel smarter that I found a mistake when it slipped through all their mighty resources.
