6 – Promoting Your Book & Getting Paid

6.1 Promoting Your Book

Amazon offers several different ways to promote and market your book to readers. For more information, visit Ways to Promote Your Book.

Jumpstart Tip

Sign up for our KDP Community forum to connect with other KDP authors. The KDP Community forum includes a Marketing & Promotion topic where you can read and ask for promotion advice from other authors. Note this is not a platform to promote your book directly.

6.2 Sales Rank

Best Seller and Category Ranks are based on customer activity of your book relative to the activity of other books. For more information, visit Sales Rank.

6.3 Getting Paid

Once you meet the minimum threshold for payment, royalties are paid every month, approximately 60 days after the end of the month in which the sale was reported (90 days for Expanded Distribution). For more information, visit When Will I Get Paid?

6.4 Checking Your Sales Reports

You can access your KDP Dashboard easily, by clicking the Reports link that appears at the top of the page when you log in to KDP.

For details on the information available in your reports, visit KDP Reports.

Congratulations! You’ve reached the end of the KDP Jumpstart guide.
