My book was “In Review.” Why is it back in draft?
A:We found some details that need to be updated to assure our customers have the best reading experience. You will receive an email with more details on what needs to be changed.
Why is my book still in review?
A: Our review process can take up to 72 hours to complete. If your title has been in review over 72 hours, please check for any publishing delays by checking KDP Community or contact us.
I want to make changes to my title, but the book is “In Review” or “Publishing.” Why can’t I access my book?
A: When you publish a book, it’ll be reviewed by Amazon for a short time, so we can ensure the best possible experience for our customers. Once started, the review process can’t be canceled or expedited. You’ll be able to make any additional changes to your book once the review process has been completed.
My book says it’s “Live - with unpublished changes.” I updated my book, why don’t I see the changes on Amazon??
A: This status typically appears when changes were made, but not published. To clear this status, you’ll need to resubmit your book for review by clicking the publish button located on the Pricing page of your title setup.
Book status and definitions
Book Status | Definition |
---|---|
Draft: | You’ve started your book, but haven’t submitted it to be published. Draft will appear next to your title on the Bookshelf. To continue getting your book ready, you can click the “Continue Setup” button. |
In Review | Once you’ve submitted your title for publication it will go into review. During review, we check your book to make sure it meets our content guidelines. The review process can’t be expedited or canceled once it’s started. You also won’t be able to make any additional edits at this time. It can take up to 72 hours for titles to be reviewed and published, and up to 10 business days for low-content books to be reviewed and published. |
Publishing: | Your title is being published and will be available on the Amazon store shortly. Your book is not available for any additional edits until this process is complete. |
Live: | Your title now available for purchase. You can now search for your book on the Amazon store. You can also make any changes to your book, if necessary. Only certain attributes can be changed after a book is published. |
Live - with unpublished changes: | Changes were made to your “Live” book and you haven’t published the updates. You may have also just viewed some details in your title setup. To publish any changes, you’ll need to submit your title for review again. |
Blocked: | Your title has been made unavailable for further editing due to your request or due to a problem related to the book’s content. Blocked titles also can’t be deleted from your Bookshelf. If you have concerns about your blocked title, please contact us for more information. |
