As of September 1, 2017, eBooks sold to customers located in Taiwan are subject to a 5% Electronically Supplied Services Value Added Tax (ESS VAT). The 5% ESS VAT is calculated based on your Amazon.com list price and is added to the list price you set. Browse the topics below to learn more.
Royalty calculation
KDP will calculate royalties on your eBook’s sales to customers in Taiwan based on your Amazon.com list prices. For more information on royalty calculations, see the Pricing Page.
Minimum and maximum list prices
The minimum and maximum list prices for the 35% and 70% royalty plans are not impacted. Learn more about minimum and maximum list prices by marketplace.
Existing list prices
Customers in Taiwan will be charged a 5% ESS VAT on the list price you set for eBooks sold on Amazon.com. The list price you set is not impacted. Learn how to change your price.
Pre-orders
There is no change to how your royalties are calculated.
