Linking Amazon detail pages of eBook, paperback, and hardcover books provides the ideal browsing experience for customers. If you have an eBook, paperback, and hardcover with the same metadata and it matches completely, their detail pages should link automatically a week after each edition is live.
Amazon attempts to link book's formats based on the following details matching:
- Title
- Subtitle
- Author
- Contributor
- Series
- Language
- Edition
- Volume
- Interior type (B&W or color) for paperback and hardcover
No. Amazon can't link editions published in different languages on the same detail page. Language is one of the details that must match for formats to link, so a French edition and an English edition of the same book will always have separate detail pages and won't appear together under "All formats and editions." Formats in the same language, for example an eBook, paperback, and hardcover all in English, can still link when their other details match.
If the detail pages are not linked, verify if:
- All formats match: Confirm that all the details listed above match between all the formats you've chosen (eBook, paperback, hardcover).
- Timelines are complete: The linking process usually takes up to 1 week after each edition is live. Visit our Help page for details on timelines.
- Author Central account: If you have an Author Central account, you can claim your books through your Author Page. After you claim your books and the book details match (including author name and title), linking happens automatically.
Contact us if the detail pages still aren't linked after these checks. Provide the ASIN of the eBook and the 10-digit ISBN number of the paperback or hardcover. Note: Hardcover publishing is not supported on kdp.amazon.co.jp.
Note: Detail page linking can be done only for eBook, paperback, and hardcover formats. The metadata must match, all formats must be published through KDP, and under the same account. We are unable to link other formats such as Audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, or any non-KDP formats. These formats may link automatically on the Amazon product page if the metadata matches.
