Manage Your Account



Update name, address, phone number

Your KDP account is connected to an Amazon account. To update your information:

  1. Sign in to KDP.
  2. Click (Your Name)'s Account at the top of the page.
  3. Update your information.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
  5. Update your information in the tax interview.


Edit bank account details

For security purposes, you can't edit an existing bank account's details. You need to go to your account, delete the existing bank account, and then add a new bank account.

  1. Sign in to KDP.
  2. Click (Your Name)'s Account at the top of the page.
  3. Click Getting Paid.
  4. Under Bank Account, click Delete account.
  5. Add a new bank account following the instructions based on your bank's location
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.


Change email address

KDP uses the same credentials as your Amazon customer account. Whether you created your account at KDP first or used an existing Amazon customer account, you can update your email preferences in Your Account. To change your email address:

  1. Go to the Login & security page of your Amazon account.
  2. Sign in with your current email address and password.
  3. Under the "Email" section, click Edit.
  4. Enter the new email address and the characters you see in the security challenge.
  5. When you're done, click Save changes.
  6. Go to your KDP account.
  7. Go to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Note: To avoid creating duplicate accounts, remember to confirm and save your information in your KDP account after you make changes.



Change password

KDP uses the same credentials as your Amazon account. Whether you created your account at KDP first or used an existing Amazon account, you can update your email preferences in Your Account. To change your password:

  1. Go to the Login & security page.
  2. Sign in with your current email address and password.
  3. Under the "Password" section, click Edit.
  4. Enter your new password.
  5. When you're done, click Save changes.


Track sales and royalties

To see units ordered, Kindle Edition Normalized Pages (KENP) read, and royalties earned for the past 90 days, go to the Sales Dashboard in your reports. You can filter by marketplace, author, format (eBook or paperback), title, and time period. You can also generate and download a detailed sales and royalties report.

Where are my books?

If you sign in to your KDP account and don't see your books, you may have signed in with the correct email address but a different password. To fix this:

  1. Sign out of KDP and Amazon.
  2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then close your browser.
  3. Open your browser again, go to Your Account and log in with the email address and password combination you used to create your profile and upload your books.

I can't sign in

Sometimes multiple accounts are created if you visit Amazon and accidentally indicate that you're a new customer when you sign in. This creates another account with the same email address and a different password. When signed in to one account, you won't be able to see or edit in the other account.

To fix this, sign out of the current account and then sign back in again with the email and password associated with your KDP account. We recommend clearing any saved passwords from your browser before signing in again.

Forgot the password for your KDP account? To reset it:

  1. Go to KDP and click Sign in.
  2. Click Forgot your password? This opens the "Password assistance" window.
  3. Enter the email address or mobile phone number associated with your KDP account.
  4. Enter the characters as they are given in the challenge and click Continue.
  5. You'll receive an email from us with a link and instructions for resetting your password. If you don't receive the email, check your junk mail folder for an email with the subject line "Amazon.com Password Assistance."
  6. Click on the link in the email. This opens the "Create new password" page.
  7. Enter your new password.
  8. Click Save changes and sign in.

Merge accounts

To have your accounts merged, you need to contact us. We need the title of one book from each KDP account and its corresponding ASIN or ISBN. We'll only be able to move the old account if the new account has complete information. If there are royalties pending in your account, please verify that your name, account number, and routing number are current and match the account information on file with your financial institution. This ensures that you receive outstanding royalties.

After you gather the information we need and verify your account details, contact us. We'll move the old account and then confirm that this is done.

Note: Merging your KDP accounts will move your published books from your old KDP account to your new one. However, it won't move old account information (e.g., tax interview details, sales reports, payment information) to the new account.



Close an account

To have your account closed, you need to contact us. Before we can close your account, you need to unpublish available books. If there are royalties pending in your account, please verify that your name, account number, and routing number are current and match the account information on file with your financial institution. This ensures that you receive outstanding royalties.

After you unpublish your books and verify your account details, contact us to authorize the closure your account.



Delete a book

You can delete books in "Draft" status from your KDP Bookshelf. If your book was previously published and available for sale, it can't be deleted. Also, paperbacks that were assigned an ISBN can't be deleted. To make a published book unavailable for sale, unpublish it.

You can order author copies of books in "Live" status:

  1. Go to your KDP Bookshelf.
  2. Find the paperback you want to order.
  3. Click Order Author Copies in the ellipsis ("...") menu.
  4. Enter the order quantity and choose the Amazon marketplace closest to your shipping destination.
  5. Click Proceed to Checkout. You'll be sent to the Amazon cart/basket of the marketplace you chose to complete your order.


See author copy order history

  1. Go to Amazon customer account.
  2. Sign in with the account information you used to place the orders.
  3. Click the Your Orders button.


Update a book

To update your book details (e.g., title, keywords, description), manuscript, cover, or price, go to your KDP Bookshelf. See detailed instructions:
