Contact UsApplying for a US ITIN
Apply for a U.S. Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) by filing Form W-7, Application for IRS Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.
As a non-U.S. resident, you may be eligible for a zero or reduced rate of U.S. tax withholding if your income is effectively connected with a U.S. trade or business, or if your country of permanent residence (the country where you claim to be a resident for purposes of that country's income tax) has an income tax treaty with the U.S.
Look for your country of permanent residence in the Copyrights column under Royalties in the list of tax treaty countries to check the applicable withholding rate. If your country of permanent residence is a part of this list, you may not need a U.S. Tax TIN (ITIN for individuals) to complete the Tax Questionnaire.
If your country of permanent residence does not issue a Tax ID number (foreign Tax ID), but has an active treaty with the U.S., you may apply for a U.S. ITIN by filing Form W-7. Please reference the following resources on the IRS website for filling a W-7.
Please contact the IRS or consult your tax adviser if you need further guidance.
You may be eligible to receive an ITIN support letter from Amazon, subject to Amazon requirements, which include but are not limited to the following:
After obtaining the ITIN, enter the ITIN on KDP's online Tax Questionnaire and submit it to Amazon.
