Kindle Textbook Creator

Kindle Textbook Creator is a downloadable tool that helps you convert pdfs of your textbooks and other educational material with rich graphics (like charts, graphs, and equations) for Kindle devices and apps. Once published, students can automatically take advantage of highlighting, notebook, flash cards, dictionary look-up and more. Download the tool and, starting with a PDF of your textbook, you can follow the steps in the Kindle Textbook Creator User Guide to convert your book for publishing to Kindle.

Kindle Kids' Book Creator

Kindle Kids' Book Creator is a downloadable tool that helps you create illustrated children's books. You can import a file from PDF, JPG, TIFF, PNG, or PPM formats. Books created with this tool will work on:

-Kindle for iPad app
-Kindle for iPhone app
-Kindle Android app

Note
: You'll only be able to create illustrated Japanese-language books with horizontal text in the Kindle Kids’ Book Creator.
To create a Japanese-language book, select “English” as your book language and enter horizontal Japanese text for your book content.

Kindle Kids' Book Creator features

  • Features unique to Kindle devices and apps like text pop-ups (for illustrated children's books).
  • Add pages and text to imported PDF files.
  • Create books with file sizes of up to 650 MB.
  • Import illustrations in any of the following file formats: jpg, png, and tiff. You can also import and convert PDF files.
  • Use the app in multiple languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese. Keep in mind that the tool information page is only available in English, but the app is available in multiple languages.
  • Preview how your books look on various Kindle devices before publishing.

KindleGen is a command line tool used to build eBooks that can be sold through Amazon's Kindle platform. This tool is best for publishers and individuals who are familiar with HTML and want to convert their HTML, XHTML, XML (OPF/IDPF format), or ePub source into a Kindle Book.

Kindle Previewer v2.94

Kindle Previewer is a tool that emulates how books display on Kindle devices and applications. Kindle Previewer makes it easy to preview the layout of a book and make sure its text displays properly for any orientation or font size. This tool is recommended for publishers, eBook conversion companies, and individual authors in combination with KindleGen to produce the highest quality Kindle books. It is available for both Windows and Mac OS X platforms.

Kindle Comic Creator v1.1

Kindle Comic Creator is a downloadable tool that helps you create graphic novels, comics and manga. This tool is recommended for anyone who wants to create Kindle Comics, graphic novels and manga out of their existing artwork. This tool supports import from PDF, JPG, TIFF, PNG and PPM formats, and is available for both PC and Mac. Kindle Plugin for Adobe InDesign® v0.973 (Beta)

Kindle Plugin for Adobe InDesign® is a plug-in which can be used to convert documents or books created in Adobe InDesign® to Kindle format. For more information on creating books for the Kindle platform from Adobe InDesign®, please see the Publishing Guidelines for Kindle Plugin for Adobe InDesign® available for download in PDF, Kindle and Adobe InDesign® formats.  

Adobe InDesign® version CS4, CS5 CS5.5, or CS6 must be installed before installing Kindle Plugin for Adobe InDesign® v0.973 (Beta). On a Mac, Security Update 2010-005 should also be installed. Please read the Help and Release Notes for more information about the plugin.  

For Mac users running OS X 10.6.7 or later, install the VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2010 CA available here to the "System" Keychain before installing the plugin. For detailed information about installing the certificate, please refer to the following instructions.
