Update Your Paperback Manuscript (Beta)

You can update your manuscript before or after publishing. Here's how to upload your revised file:

  1. Sign in to kdp.amazon.com and go to your Bookshelf
  2. Click the ellipsis button ("…") under PAPERBACK ACTIONS next to the book you want to update
  3. Select "Edit Paperback Content." This will take you to the Paperback Content page
  4. Scroll down to the "Manuscript" section
  5. Click Upload Paperback Manuscript
  6. Find and open the revised file on your computer
  7. Once the content completes the upload process, the message "Manuscript uploaded successfully" will appear
  8. Click Save and Continue. This will take you to the Paperback Rights & Pricing page. Click the publish button at the bottom of this page

It may take up to 72 hours for your updates to become available on all Amazon websites. The "Look Inside" sample should update within seven days of republishing your book.

Due to ISBN requirements, the following details will be locked after publication. They can't be updated unless you unpublish and republish your paperback as a new title.

  • Language
  • Book title
  • Subtitle
  • Edition number
  • Primary author name
  • ISBN
  • Publication date
  • Interior & paper type
  • Trim size
