Once you’ve submitted your book for publication, it goes into review. During review, we check your book to make sure it meets our formatting and content guidelines.
As discussed in 4 – Title Setup: Book Details, Content, & Pricing, while In Review, your book is locked for changes.
You can return to your KDP Bookshelf at any time during the review process to check your Book Status.
To understand the status shown, watch our video or visit Book Status.
Once your book is available for purchase, it takes up to 72 hours for it to appear in Search Results.
If you need to make updates to your book, you can do so once your book is Live.

The time it takes to complete review varies, based on the type of book you submitted, but, generally, it takes 3 – 10 business days. To check the timeframe, visit Timelines. If further information is needed to validate your publishing rights, the review time may be longer than what is shown in Timelines.
