Kindle MatchBook

Kindle MatchBook gives customers who buy a print book from Amazon.com the option to purchase the Kindle version of the same title for $2.99 or less. If you have a print version of your title on Amazon.com, you can enroll the Kindle version in Kindle MatchBook and earn Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) royalties based on the Promotional List Price (choose from $2.99, $1.99, $0.99, or free) for any Kindle MatchBook sale.

Whether you're a U.S. or international publisher, you can create a print version of your book for distribution through Amazon.com.

Once the print version of your book is up for sale on Amazon.com, you can enroll the digital version in MatchBook by following these steps:
  1. Sign in to your Bookshelf: https://kdp.amazon.com/bookshelf
  2. Click the ellipsis button ("…") under the Book Actions menu next to the book you want to enroll and select "Edit book pricing."
  3. Under the MatchBook header, check the box to enroll your book in the Kindle MatchBook program.
  4. Select your MatchBook list price from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the button to publish your changes at the bottom of the page.
If you want to cancel your book’s enrollment in Kindle MatchBook, select the title you want to opt out of the program and uncheck the box labeled "Enroll my book in Kindle MatchBook."

Your royalties will be based on the Promotional List Price you set and your selected royalty option.

For example, if you are earning 35% royalties for sales of your digital book at its regular Digital List Price, you will earn 35% royalties on Kindle MatchBook sales calculated at the Promotional List Price.

See the Pricing Page for additional details on the 35% and 70% royalty options.
